  • The applicant is eligible for TAC if he/she possesses a valid entry visa, resident card, permanent resident card or visa that has expired less than 10 years prior to the date of arrival in Taiwan issued by Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, any of EU and Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, or the United States or a valid visa or residence permit issued by Taiwan in the past 10 years.
  • Applicants who use an electronic visa issued by Australia or New Zealand as the required document must present a valid Australian or New Zealand electronic visa while entering Taiwan on a TAC.
  • Applicants who use a visa issued by Japan/Korea as the required document must present proof of entering Japan/Korea while entering Taiwan on a TAC.

Taiwan (Republic of China) offers an online Travel Authorization certificate to Indian travelers with a valid visa or a visa that has expired within 10 years from the date of travel or a residency permit issued by one of the following countries; Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, any of EU and Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, or the United States or a valid visa or residence permit issued by Taiwan in the past 10 years.

If the Indian Traveler does not have any of the above visas or residency permits, the traveler has to apply for a Taiwan visa by visiting the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center.

    Taiwan (Republic of China) offers an online Travel Authorization certificate to Indian travelers with a valid visa or a visa that has expired within 10 years from date of travel or residency permit issued by one of the following countries; Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, any of EU and Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, or the United States or a valid visa or residence permit issued by Taiwan in the past 10 years.

    If your visa has such stamps - VOID, CANCELLED, or CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE, then you will not be eligible for an ROC Travel Authorization Certificate.

    In order to apply for the Taiwan Travel Authorization Certificate, you require:

    • Passport (with at least 6 months of validity)
    • Valid visa or a visa that has expired within 10 years of travel date or Residence permit (Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, any of EU and Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, or the United States or a valid visa or residence permit issued by Taiwan in the past 10 years.)

    To apply for the Taiwan travel authorization certificate:

    • Visit the Taiwan TAC website and click on "Apply Now"
    • Make sure you submit all the information correctly
    • Submit your form and wait for the decision 
    • Once your TAC is processed, download the PDF

     

  • What is the validity of the Taiwan Travel Authorization Certificate?

    An approved ROC Travel Authorization Certificate is valid for 90 days. Multiple entries within these 90 days are allowed. You may stay in Taiwan for 14 days, starting from the day after arrival. 

  • My USA visa has expired, am I eligible for ROC Travel Authorization Certificate?

    With regard to resident cards or visas that have expired less than 10 years ago, this means that the time between the expiry date of the resident card or visa and the date of arrival in Taiwan may not be longer than 10 years. If no expiry date or validity period is given on the resident card or visa, the 10-year period refers to the time between the resident card or visa’s issuing date and the date of arrival in Taiwan.

  • What documents do I need along with Taiwan Travel Authorization Certificate while entering Taiwan?

    Travelers have to fill in an online Arrival Card for immigration inspection each time before re-entry within the validity of this certificate.

  • Do I need to submit my passport for Taiwan Travel Authorization Certificate??

    No, Indians travelers do not need to submit their passport to get the Taiwan Travel Authorization Certificate.

  • Does Taiwan offer visa-on-arrival for Indians?

    No, Taiwan does not offer visa-on-arrival for Indian travelers. You must apply for a Travel Authorization certificate or visa before traveling to Taiwan. If you are not eligible for a Travel Authorization Certificate, then you must apply for a visa from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center.
